CSS and CARP design

Introduction

In this assignment I used the rules of CARP (contrast, alignment, repetition and proximity) to fix a generic html with a poem on it to make the newer, better looking, version of this page. Some differences included changing the text and background color to match the dog. I used the same colors for multiple areas on the page to make it look clean and the same all the way through. I also changed the size of text around the page it fit it better, and to wrap around the picture of the dog.

Contrast

Some differences referring to contrast included changing the text and background color to match the dog. I used the same colors for multiple areas on the page to make it look clean and the same all the way through. The darker brown text stood out against the light tan background. The black border around the page brought a neutral color that wasn't brown to the page, pulling the poem and other elements together.

Alignment

To make the page aligned and flow all the way through, I subtly wrapped the text around the picture of the dog and made the picture smaller so its not overpowering to the rest of the page. To make the text look clean and cut, I started all of the lines on the left, which caused the look of a perfect line going down the page, bringing it together.

Repetition

I used repetition in both alignment when making all of the lines start on the left side and when making most the colors shades of brown, white, and black from the dog. All of theses things brought the page together and made everything fit.

Proximity

To make a page clean looking uses a lot of proximity. All text was kept the same size except for the headings. Every line was also evenly spaced and between each paragraph was double the space. The black border around the outside was the same size line all the way around.

Conclusion

I learned how to use CSS when designing by using multiple parts of CARP design. Using all of the aspects together makes a clean, good looking, end product. I learned the importance of paying attention to detail and using repetition throughout a whole product.

High School Film Trailer

Project                 For this project I was tasked with recreating a movie trailer of a high school based movie. My group was assigned the film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". We had the option of which official trailer we wanted to recreate. After some research, my group found the most reasonable trailer to make and started pre-production.                 Before we could start filming, there were many steps to make sure we could recreate the trailer perfectly. Unfortunately, we found that it could not be directly replicated as there were many shots that we couldn't do. I started with creating a story board of every scene in the edited trailer. Then, as a team, we wrote down all costumes and props. Finally, we cast rolls and made sure people would be available before giving them the part officially. Our group decided to keep most of the casting inside the group but we did get two adults and two students ...

Self portrait statement

My self portrait                  I chose to represent my "self-portrait" the way I did because I though this would be a fun and creative way to show my personality. Before even watching the video you can tell I am committed and prepared. It was also fun to walk around the house showing more about me. I really wanted to show I am a well rounded person. Some other portraits I enjoyed had preparation put into them and mostly focused on one part of their life.         I chose to walk around the house like giving a tour as if I am giving a "tour of my life". I had my dad record me like the audience was following me around and focusing at all the spots I wanted everyone to see. This shows I wanted a lot of me shown in a short, entertaining amount of time.         This process took a couple hours to plan and execute. I had to invite people over (the two girls at the end) and I had to work with my da...
